Welcome to the amazing WAC (Walton Adventure Challenge) taking place on
Sunday 2nd March 2025, 397 Piakoiti Road, Walton

This is an orienteering event the WHOLE FAMILY can participate in. We provide your team with a map and answer sheet and then all you've got to do is find the checkpoints...and participate in some awesome mystery activities along the way! (Don't worry, you'll LOVE them)
​
We have two courses available:
​
1) A one hour beginners event where you'll walk (or run) approximately 3-4kms and participate in 3 mystery challenges.
​
OR
​
2)A two hour event where you will walk (or run) 7-8km and participate in 6 mystery challenges.
Categories
All teams must have a minimum of 2 and
a maximum of 6 participants.
​
Family Team: must include a minimum of one primary aged child (or younger) and one adult aged over 18 years.
​
Intermediate Team: all participants must be years 7-8 at school.
​
College Team: all participants must be years 7-13 at school.
​
Social Team: mixture of any of the above or all adults.
Price

Entry if paid before 23rd Feb
1 hour = $15 per person
2 hours = $20 per person
On the day entries if not already full
1 hour = $20 per person
2 hours = $25 per person
​
Children aged 3 years and under are free.
PLEASE NOTE: the event is limited to only 300 people and only 100 in the 1 hour event.

The course
The event will take place on a beautiful local farm in Walton with some great scenery. You may have to climb a few hills to see this great scenery but it will all be worth it! Be prepared to get a little wet and maybe a bit muddy too!
The course map will be given out at registrations on Sunday 2nd March

One Hour Race: The 1 hr course is designed for complete beginners. Navigation will be basic - you can even let the kids lead the way. You will need to be able to walk 3-4km on farm paddocks and tracks.
​
Two Hour Race: This course is also designed for beginners. Navigation will be basic and you will need to be able to walk 7-8km on farm paddocks and tracks. The course is set so most teams will finish within 2 hours.
